Our company

F.lli Tallone is a family-run agricultural company based in Piedmont which is part of Anaborapi - the Association of Breeders of the Piedmontese Cattle Breed.

The Tallone family firmly believes in the need to breed sustainably and has been committed for over 15 years to intelligently rethink its production model in full respect of the environment on 3 fronts:

  • 1. Animal welfare

Healthy, strong and peaceful Piedmontese cattle as a necessary requirement for the high quality of the final product through:

    • High quality fodder and cereals, self-produced on the farm
    • External pasture for cattle raised outdoors throughout the year (GRASS FED)
  • 2. Short supply chain

The Tallone supply chain is short, very short indeed:

    • Animals born, raised and slaughtered in the same place
    • Safeguarding biodiversity

The direct relationship between producer and consumer guarantees a fairer price which encourages good practices and enhances the excellence of the territory.

Val Lemme in the province of Alessandria (Piedmont), crossed by streams, is also known for its hilly microclimate of the Gavi Docg vineyards.

  • 3. Renewable energy

Today the Tallone Agricultural Company has reached 80% energy self-sufficiency, using clean sources.

    • Photovoltaic panels covering the stables
    • Electricity production from biogas
    • Reduction of methane emissions into the atmosphere
    • Abandonment of chemical fertilizer thanks to the use of digestate
  • Our Piedmontese Fassoni are raised in free housing. The cows enjoy access to grazing in the meadows adjacent to our farm all year round, feeding on fresh grass in the summer and hay for the remaining period.

The males, on the other hand, are raised in modern ventilated stables with inclined bedding renewed twice a day by adding straw and removing excess manure, fully respecting animal welfare.

  • The cattle's diets are followed by expert agronomists and vary in compliance with the specificities of the animals and the different growth phases.

We do not purchase feed, but rather grow cereals and fodder directly in our fields, carrying out an annual crop rotation to keep them at their best.
